Digital Citizenship

The LBPSB technology steering committee decided to make 'Digital Citizenship' one of the cornerstones of the Lester B. Pearson School Board technology plan. The LBPSB Digital Citizenship website has been developed to provide countless resources that can be used in school and at home.

Here's link to presentation given at LCEEQ conference on February 11, 2013 Digital Citizenship 101.

I've given the links and resources I used in the pilot workshop offered to teachers and administrators below:

Introduction to Digital Citizenship in Schools (workshop)

The workshop was given at Clearpoint Elementary on June 7th, 2010.
The idea behind the workshop is was to give teachers/administrators an overview of digital citizenship. How can we as teachers/administrators help our students become responsible digital citizens?

Reference

Digital Citizenship in Schools by Mike Ribble (2nd edition) from ISTE is an essential introduction to digital citizenship. Here's the table of contents and a chapter excerpt. The book covers the nine elements of digital citizenship and includes dozens of professional development activities for staff as well as lesson plans for students. Good starting point for schools looking to enrich their tech plans. The companion website for the text and materials.

There’s a 3rd edition that’s been published.
